Mercedes-Maybach, a supremely luxurious segment of Mercedes cars, has launched a new Night Series variant of the Maybach GLS, the SUV version of the S-Class. At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the three-pointed star brand launched the same variant for the Maybach EQS SUV, and now the GLS also has it. Like every mass-market automaker offering a special all-black edition of their cars, premium brands have also followed this trend. Mercedes-Benz is offering the option to choose a special Night Series variant for its behemoth SUV, the Maybach GLS, which feels like the living room of a 7-star hotel on the inside and a sight to behold on the outside. This variant, the Night Series, applies black metallic paint to every exterior element that would normally feature chrome. So, the grille, bumpers, window pillars, foot steps, and roof rails are all finished in metallic black.
Also, the German brand is offering three color options to choose from: the first is Obsidian Black, the second is MANUFAKTUR Opalite White Bright, and the third is a Maybach two-tone paint combination of Obsidian Black/Mojave Silver.
A special feature to mention here are those posh-looking Maybach 7-spoke light alloy wheels. For the interior, Benz is offering two upholstery options: all black and all white with black pearl trims.
Talking about its engine, there is only one on offer: a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 that is assisted by a 48V mild-hybrid system, which contributes 22 hp. So, the total power output is 579 hp and 770 Nm of torque. With the help of a 9-speed automatic gearbox, this tank-sized SUV can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds.

Verdict
The best or nothing - Mercedes stays true to its decades-old tagline even now, always pushing the boundaries in the tech and luxury segments. I've sat in the Maybach EQS Night Series and can confidently say it will transport you to another planet once you step inside. The use of materials and the overall vibe the Night Series creates are unparalleled. The same can be said for the Mercedes-Maybach GLS.
