MG Motor India debuted the Hector in 2019 and the mid-size SUV has been clocking the sales chart ever since. The SUV is available in three engine options - petrol, petrol hybrid and diesel but all in BS4 form. And that is changed as MG rolls in BS6 Hector in petrol engine first.
The BS6 version of the MG Hector in petrol form sees a price hike of Rs 26,000 across all trims. It starts at a price of Rs 12.74 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 17.44 lakh for the fully loaded, Sharp DCT trim.
There are no changes in terms of customizations, features or the power output. The 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol motor churns out 143 bhp along with a peak torque of 250 Nm with same RPM levels. The motor gets mated to a 6-speed manual or a DCT gearbox. The petrol-hybrid comes with manual only.
The diesel engine has not been updated but will see its date before April 1, 2020. MG might be waiting to first debut the BS6 engine with the 6-seater Hector then moving onto the five-seater version. We expect that the power output will be the same and ARAI fuel efficiency might see a dip.
The prices of BS6-compliant MG Hector petrol are as follows:
