Several carmakers have taken a hit by the shortage of semiconductor chips globally. In this flow, even customers are frustrated because of the long waiting period. And it gets quite tiring as well. While some carmakers just increase the price all this while and ask customers to wait, MG Motor India has taken a great initiative to offer free goodies worth Rs 10,000 for those awaiting the deliveries of Astor.
MG Astor is a mid-size SUV in the Indian market that is priced from Rs 10.32 lakh to Rs 18.23 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. It rivals Maruti Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, VW Taigun, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
The free goodies can be availed by those customers who have either booked CVT or AT variants of the Astor till May 31, 2022. Named as Worth Waiting For 3.0, MG wants to know the customers that they care for them and the free goodies can be an attempt to not cancel their bookings.

Under the hood, MG Astor is powered by two engine options - a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor and a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The latter pumps out 138 bhp of power with a peak torque of 220 Nm. This gets mated to a six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox only.
The 1.5L non-turbo motor puts out 108 bhp of power with 144 Nm of peak torque. Here, you get a 5-speed manual transmission as standard and CVT as an option.
