MG ZS EV Gets a Massive Price Correction: A Sweet Deal for EV Enthusiasts

Just five months into the new year, MG Motor India has made a surprising and significant move in the electric vehicle market. After initially raising prices for the 2025 MG ZS EV at the start of the year, pushing the top variant to Rs. 26.63 lakh, the company has now enacted a dramatic price correction, slashing prices by as much as Rs. 6.14 lakh, making this e-SUV a lot more accessible than before.

While the base 'Executive' variant initially held steady at around Rs. 19.0 lakh (ex-showroom) during the January price adjustments, it, along with every other trim, has now seen substantial reductions. The price cuts range from nearly Rs. 1 lakh on the entry-level Executive model to over Rs. 6 lakh on the top-tier Essence Ivory variant, effectively reversing the earlier hike and positioning the ZS EV much more competitively. For instance, the previously priciest Essence Ivory now stands at Rs. 20,49,800, a striking difference from its former Rs. 26,63,800 tag. It's worth noting that with these aggressive new prices, MG is not currently bundling any additional offers on the 2025 stock. This is how the Old vs New price list looks like:
Old Price | New Price | Difference | |
Executive | Rs. 18,98,000 | Rs. 17,99,000 | -Rs. 99,000 |
Excite Pro | Rs. 20,47,800 | Rs. 18,49,800 | -Rs. 1,98,000 |
Exclusive Plus | Rs. 25,14,800 | Rs. 19,49,800 | -Rs. 5,65,000 |
Exclusive Plus Ivory | Rs. 25,34,800 | Rs. 19,49,800 | -Rs. 5,85,000 |
Essence | Rs. 26,43,800 | Rs. 20,49,800 | -Rs. 5,94,000 |
Essence Ivory | Rs. 26,63,800 | Rs. 20,49,800 | -Rs. 6,14,000 |
Battery And Range

Underneath the hood, the MG ZS EV continues to impress with its robust electric powertrain. It's equipped with a 50.3 kWh battery pack that powers an electric motor churning out a spirited 177 PS and 280 Nm of torque. This combination translates to a claimed range of 461 km on a single charge, providing ample mileage for daily commutes and weekend excursions, though real-world figures will naturally vary with driving style and conditions.
Verdict
This significant price correction by MG Motor India fundamentally reshapes the value proposition of the ZS EV 2025. By slashing prices by up to 23%, MG has not only made its feature-rich and capable electric SUV far more accessible but also intensified competition within the Indian EV market. This aggressive move positions the ZS EV as a highly desirable option for consumers seeking a well-equipped, long-range electric vehicle, potentially driving a strong surge in sales for the brand as well.
