Known for their unique and custom designs, Rajputana Customs has modified the Royal Enfield 650 in bobber shape. Check out all the details of 'Starlight'.
Royal Enfield 650 twins' have been a cult since they were introduced in the global markets. No doubt in the fact that the engineering efforts from the Royal Enfield team have resulted in one of the best entry-level performance products available internationally. But what if you own a modified Royal Enfield 650 and still want more from the design, aesthetics, and most importantly want to be different in every aspect when rolling down the road? Rajputana Customs is where you should exactly head towards if you're looking for the answer.
The Jaipur-based custom motorcycle maker needs no introduction especially when the name Royal Enfield modification arises. Working on completely unique projects and known for their hand crafted motorcycle parts and modifications; Rajputana Customs decided to work on a new project called the 'Starlight'.
This 'Starlight' was going to be a completely new Interceptor 650 which was to undergo a makeover that has never been attempted internationally. The custom motorcycle maker decided to rip apart the design and convert the 650 into a hard-tail bobber motorcycle.
What Rajputana Customs is known for is their precise handcraft which is visible at the first glance on photos of Starlight project motorcycle. A beautiful teardrop shape of iconic hard-tail bobber style has been designed. Supporting the design are various hand made brass parts with Rajputana Customs badging over them.
To build this project, the custom maker had to cut the frame to shorten the stance for a bobber look. Additional parts were designed and bolted over the frame to support the new design. The short single seat is a full-leather hand stitched. The fuel tank was made from scratch to hold the fuel, the fuel pump, and the electronics of the Starlight motorcycle.
Custom-made handlebar which is typical bobber styled gives the wide riding stance contributing to the feel factor more. Typical short and round halogen headlight with glass front found its way midst the newly built suspensions. The suspension work is what Rajputana Customs is particularly proud of because it was a big challenge to accommodate way for the fat bigger tyres and the braking components.

To adjust the fat bobber styled tyres, the custom motorcycle maker decided to re-adjust the brake calipers position over the top of discs rather than the actual rear-mid position of the calipers as seen over the stock motorcycle.
Apart from these changes in design, the team also focused on clever engineering like shifting the electricals into the fuel tank. Yes, it might sound crazy but the fuel tank has two parts, one that carries the fuel and the fuel pump underneath while the second holds the wiring and electricals for the Starlight.
Use of brass made lathe machined custom parts is visible throughout the motorcycle. From clutch and brake levers to wires, the major work brass work can be seen over the two-in-two exhaust tips. Even the air filters are hand made from brass. Brass made chain drive is another highlight of this beautiful bobber design.
As we know that bobber motorcycles are part of a rider's personality and focus more on the aesthetics and feel-factor than utility; the Starlight is no different. Yes, it'll get you the attention but on the utility front, this is not the customization that will help a lot. Nonetheless, we do not mean that it isn't special; in every inch of its design, you'll get the uniqueness and feel of Rajputana Customs.
And before you ask what does it cost, we shall tell you that it was a special project and Rajputana Customs shall soon launch the Starlight kits that'll be hand-made by themselves. For now, this motorcycle remains a piece of art and in the hands of the classic custom motorcycle maker i.e. Rajputana Customs.
