The new 2021 Tata Safari is essentially an extended seven-seater version of the Tata Harrier. The new Safari is 63 mm longer and 80 mm taller than the Harrier. The ground clearance of the SUV is rated at 200 mm and it sits on a 2741 mm long wheelbase, which is the same as the Harrier.

Just like the underpinnings, the new Safari also share its mechanicals with the Tata Harrier. This means that both these SUVs are powered by the same BS6 compliant 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. This oil-burner churns out 170 PS of maximum power and a whopping 350 Nm of peak torque. The diesel motor comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and they get a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission too.
