The most anticipated launches after the Safari has to be that of the popular pick-up truck, the new BS6 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross and the spy shot for the same has been spotted on Indian roads. However, in its new avatar, rumour has it that it'll carry a 1.9L diesel engine under the hood. How true is that? Let's find out

Hinting your attention to the BS4 models then the D-Max came with two engine options - a 2.5L and a more powerful 1.9L diesel. The former generated 132 bhp with 320 Nm of peak torque while the 1.9L diesel made more power and torque of 148 bhp with 350 Nm of peak torque. However, the 5-speed stick shift was reserved for the 2.5L only and the 6-speed auto came with the 1.9L unit only.

In the latest spy shot, you can see the Ddi badge hinting that the newer model will come with a 1.9L diesel engine. This motor will be BS6 compliant and will also host an expected 6-speed manual along with an optional 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Please note that other than the major mechanical upgrade, the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross will continue with the usual features like before. That includes projector headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights, fog lights, thick chrome linin on the grille, diamond-cut alloy wheels and others.

On the inside, you will also get a touchscreen infotainment system with modern connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features will also include steering wheel-mounted controls, power windows, central locking and cruise control.
On the safety front, it will continue with the anti-lock braking system, electronic brake-force distribution, traction control, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors, high-speed alert system, ISOFIX mount child seats and others.
