Hyundai Motors India Limited has officially announced the launch of the new-gen 2023 Hyundai Verna on March 21, 2023. This will directly compete with the new updated Honda City, Skoda Slavia, and Volkswagen Virtus. This is the latest and the 3rd launch by Hyundai in 2023. It comes after launching the facelifted Hyundai i10 NIOS and the Hyundai Aura. The booking of the new Verna has been opened a few days back at Rs. 25,000.

New-Gen Hyundai Verna 2023
With the launch teased earlier with outlined shots of the car, the official launch date is now confirmed to be March 21. The new Verna will only be offered in a petrol-only engine option. The diesel has been axed, courtesy of the new RDE norms kicking in from April 20223.
The new Hyundai Verna will be offered in four variants of EX, S, SX, and SX (O). It will see some new color schemes of Abyss Black, Atlas White, and Tellurian Brown in addition to its 7 monotones and 2 dual-tone colors on its outgoing generation. The 2023 Hyundai Verna sedan will be larger in dimensions as it is positioned on a longer wheelbase as compared to that of its present model.
It sports a horizontal light bar running across its width, also serving as LED DRLs. It will sport ADAS tech as well.

Engine Options
Hyundai will be updating the engine lineup on the new-gen Verna. The petrol engine is RDE-compliant and E20 fuel ready. It is coming in two petrol engine options, these include a 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine that generates 160 hp power and 260 Nm torque mated to a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT. It also draws power via a 1.5 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine capable of 113 hp power and 144 Nm torque mated to a 6-speed manual or IVT gearbox.
VERDICT- It was earlier believed that the sedan segment is phasing out. Less focus was on this segment. SUVs were coming out and sedans were not getting updates. Now, With the launch confirmed on March 21, Hyundai is looking to act fast. Honda is also coming up with the updated City, so this space is going to heat up a little more. For sedan lovers, of course, the options in the market are again picking up pace. What segment would you prefer?
