The upcoming model will include major updates, including an advanced strong hybrid powertrain. Reports suggest that the new WagonR will integrate the hybrid drive motor currently seen in the Solio, paired with Suzuki's Auto Gear Shift technology.

Under the hood, it will feature a 660cc, inline 3-cylinder DOHC petrol engine, producing 54 PS and 58 Nm of torque. Supporting the petrol unit, an electric motor will deliver an additional 10 PS and 29 Nm, linked through an electric continuously variable transmission (e-CVT).
