- The new-age Verna is likely to be launched by April 2023
- It will be rich in features and safety equipment
- The 2023 Hyundai Verna will be the only diesel sedan in its segment
The all-new Hyundai Verna has been spotted again on Indian roads and this time, it reveals quite a few details. This upcoming sedan will rival VW Virtus, Skoda Slavia, fifth-gen Honda City and Maruti Ciaz. We expect the price to stick from Rs 10.11 lakh to Rs 16.50 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.

Design-wise, the new-age Verna will borrow inspiration from the Elantra. Expect a split headlight set-up with LED daytime running lights at the top and headlights at the bottom. The side profile is expected to remain more or less the same but do expect new alloy wheels design. At the rear, we expect an all-new bumper and revised taillight set-up.
As far as the features are concerned then we do expect the 2023 Verna to be loaded up to the brim. Do expect more features for the BlueLink connected technology, a bigger touchscreen with improved user interface, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a bigger electric sunroof, dual-zone climate control and more.

Mechanically, we don't expect any changes as it will continue with two petrol motors and one diesel engine. It currently gets a 1.5L non-turbo petrol, 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel motor. In addition to this, the 2023 Verna will be the only sedan in its segment to feature a diesel engine.
Honda will discontinue the i-DTEC motor from the fifth-gen City with the upcoming facelift. Hyundai will upgrade its 1.5L diesel with the upcoming RDE (real driving emission) norms. This motor will be seen with Creta and Alcazar as well.
Verdict
The all-new Hyundai Verna will be rich in features and safety equipment. Also, being the only diesel sedan in the segment, it will surely enjoy the monopoly and will be a good pick for those travelling on long commutes.
