Skoda introduced the 4th-gen Octavia in India in 2021, but since then, the D1-segment sedan never recieved any updates. Eventually, Skoda removed the Octavia from its India website, indicating a lack of interest in selling the sedan in the BS6 Phase 2 era. Sluggish sales in the months leading up to its discontinuation may have contributed to this decision. Skoda recorded only 100 and 82 units of Octavia sales in January and February 2023, respectively, with an average of 110 units in the last six months before discontinuation. The close pricing proximity of the 2021 Octavia (Rs. 27.35 lakh - Rs. 30.45 lakh) to the Superb (Rs. 34.19 lakh - Rs. 37.29 lakh) potentially led to the larger, more feature-packed Superb overshadowing Octavia sales, prompting its removal from the lineup.
