Ola S1 Air E-Scooter: What's Different?
The S1 Air is based on the Ola S1 Pro itself. However, it is a budget-friendly option hence it gets less equipment and features. The design of Air is similar to the S1 Pro but gets subtle changes. For example, the footboard area is flat and the front suspension is telescopic. Meanwhile, removing the center hump has also led to incrementing the boot space on it. It gets a massive 34-liters of under-seat storage. The Air is targeted for utility more than features. Therefore, Ola is eyeing that it'll be sold among the B2B operators as well as last-mile delivery service audience. It also doesn't get the disc brakes but the alloy wheels and tyre size are the same. Other key highlights like the LED headlight, LED taillight, etc., remain unchanged on it.
Now, the main change is underneath the body. The battery pack on it is smaller than the S1 Pro. It gets an option of three different battery packs - 4kWh, 3kWh and 2kWh. However, the electric motor for all of these three battery options is the same i.e. 2.7kW. This motor can lead it up to a top speed of 85 kmph while the maximum riding range that it can achieve is 165 km per charge. However, the 7-inch TFT touchscreen remains unchanged on it. It gets the options of Maps, OTA updates, lock/unlock, etc. Ola also offers features as such reverse mode, different ride modes, & music play as well.
Verdict
The S1 Air by Ola is going to become popular. Why so? It is because of its pricing. It was introduced at a staggering price tag of Rs 79,999. However, this price was later on revised to Rs 84,999 (current price). Meanwhile, rivals like Ather 450X are also in the making. The more affordable variants will make sure that the EV era become affordable as well. Tell us what you think about the S1 Air in the comment section below.
