Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 & Shotgun 650 were spotted testing in production-ready undisguised form. Is the launch happening soon? Read below.
We've been consistently presenting you the repetitive cameo stories of the upcoming Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, and Shotgun 650 motorcycles. Well, here are the newest spy shots of both motorcycles being road-tested again over the public roads in India. This time, both of the test bikes are completely undisguised and production-ready by the looks of them.
As seen in the short video uploaded over social media, both of the test mules were draped in the black paint shade. The testing of these upcoming motorcycles have been undergoing extensively since some time now and the new spy shots showcase that the launch is nearing. There are also rumors over the internet that these twin motorcycles will make it to the launch by the mid-July 2022. We're not sure if that is 100 percent true but going by the looks of the production-ready test bikes, the launch is surely very close.
First, we'll like to talk about the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650, which is a cruiser motorcycle. The low-slung design, wide handlebar, relaxed riding position, front-set footpegs, wide seat, and the wide rear tyre support the typical big-engine equipped cruiser. Visible things to notice in the spy shots are a twin-pod instrument cluster that will feature a semi-digital console and Bluetooth connectivity, LED headlight, LEAD tail light, 5-spoke alloy wheels at both ends, and blacked-out engine casing. There is a slightly visible use of chrome parts such as the twin exhaust pipes are chrome in the Shotgun.

The second bike is the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 which is based on the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 styling. The design is more upright, the teardrop-shaped fuel tank, upright set handlebar, rear-set footpegs, and the blacked-out sporty engine and exhaust pipes casing make it look distinguished from the Shotgun. While the cruiser will use more chrome parts, the Super Meteor is based on a more aesthetic design approach.
As both motorcycles were equipped with a set of alloy wheels, it is clear that Royal Enfield will address the tube-tyre issue of the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 bikes via the introduction of tubeless tyres and the option of an alloy wheel upgrade.
Spec-wise, both of the motorcycles will continue using the tried and tested 650cc, parallel-twin, DOHC engine which produces peak power of 47 hp and peak torque of 52 Nm. The gearbox will also remain the same 6-speed constant mesh with a slip-assist clutch function. There are also speculations that the cruiser variant might be submerged with the omnipresent nomenclature of the 'Classic' model. Well, all these anticipations shall clear out once these motorcycles make it to the launch which is expected to take place soon.
