Renault India has today announced that the 1.0-litre turbocharged version of the Kiger sub-compact SUV has gone on to become the most fuel-efficient model in its category with an ARAI-certified fuel mileage figure of 20.5 kmpl. In its 10thyear of operations, the local subsidiary of the French carmaker currently offers a three-model portfolio, comprising Kwid, Triber, Kiger and Duster.

The turbo-petrol variant of the Renault Kiger comes kitted out with a three-cylinder petrol mill that benefits from forced induction to produce a maximum power of 100 PS and a peak torque of 160 Nm. If the carmaker is to be believed, the three-potter has been put through extensive testing and shares aplenty with the version powering the Euro-spec Clio and Captur.
Renault Kiger has been on sale in two engine options 1.0-litre Energy and 1.0-litre Turbo. With prices starting from Rs 5.64 lakh (ex-showroom), the Kiger is available with an optional AMT on the naturally-aspirated version and a CVT on the turbocharged iteration. Also, the sub-compact SUV can be used in any of the three drive modes Eco, Normal and Sport. These can be used to optimize the performance based on the usage conditions. In all, the latest Renault model is available in five trim options - RXE, RXL, RXT, RXT (O) & RXZ.

In line with its 10th-anniversary celebrations, Renault India has introduced the RXT(O) trim of the Kiger in addition to a host of offers and promotions for potential buyers. Select models in the carmakers product portfolio are currently being sold with offers worth Rs 1.30 lakh. Other than this, the carmaker has even introduced as many as 10 loyalty rewards in order to commemorate 10 years of its existence in the market. The maximum benefit under this scheme is Rs 1.10 lakh and the same is provided along with other consumer benefits.

The Renault Kiger made its debut in the Indian car market but has now established itself rather well in several other countries across the globe. The sub-4-metre SUV is currently being exported from India to South Africa and SAARC region. The carmaker even intends to commence exports of the Kiger to Indonesia and other parts of the African continent.
