Renault India has confirmed in an interview that Lodgy which is a multi-purpose vehicle in Renault India's portfolio will be discontinued before the BS6 deadline. Renault India CEO, Venkatram Mamillapalle said the company will only focus to roll out the BS6 range as quick as possible and there will be no diesel car sold post BS6 emissions kick in.
Renault India's main focus is now shifted to the BS6 compliant Triber and AMT variant for Triber. Renault India will launch the Triber with BS6 engine at the end of January 2020 and an AMT will also be added afterwards.
Renault has announced an end of their highly popular K9K diesel engine from India, K9K or any diesel engine won't be introduced in our market at least for now and all the Renault cars post BS6 norms deadline will be gasoline driven. this proves the end of the road for Renault Lodgy and even diesel variants of Renault Duster and Renault Captur which will also be discontinued.
Venkatram Mamillapalle also added that stocks of Renault Lodgy has already sold and they have also halted the production. As we are discontinuing our diesel portfolio and Lodgy being only sold in diesel also comes under our decision of saying bye to diesel cars.

Renault India is also indulged in developing a compact SUV codenamed HBC which will be first showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo and get launched in the second half of next year. HBC will sit on the same CMF-A+ platform which does duty for Renault Triber.
Renault Lodgy was only available with a diesel engine in 2 states of tunes, 85 ps and 110 ps. the variant list was divided in 7 and 8 seater configurations. Renault sold only 6 units of Lodgy whereas MSIL sold 7537 units of the Ertiga, Lodgy's main competitor in the market. sales numbers of Renault Lodgy turns out very poor and don't justify the investment and conversion to BS6 emission norms compliance.
