Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Spied: The Most Detailed Image Yet
The recently spotted Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is the naked version of its sibling, the Himalayan 450 while sharing the newly developed engine which the brand likes to call the Sherpa 450. While we've had past instances where it was seen rolling on roads, it was the Himalayan that made its debut first. In the anticipated 'Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450', probable similarities with the Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycle extend to the chassis and powertrain. However, distinctions arise in the suspension setup, indicating a preference for a more road-oriented design in the Guerrilla 450 model
An examination of the spied motorcycle images supports this assumption, revealing a conventional front suspension of shorter length, along with alloy wheels and smaller 17-inch road-centric tires. These alterations imply a reduced ground clearance compared to the Himalayan model it's derived from. Nevertheless, similarities persist in the rear suspension setup between these two motorcycles.
Sharing Engine With Himalayan 450
The bike is propelled by the Sherpa 450 engine, marking Royal Enfield's debut in incorporating modern engineering elements such as a DOHC 4V head and liquid cooling. Additionally, it boasts several firsts for any single-cylinder Royal Enfield, including a 6-speed gearbox, slipper clutch, and ride-by-wire throttle system, and more.
Expect this bike to make its debut somewhere around the festive season of 2024 with an expected price of around Rs. 2.6 lakhs.
Verdict
Even though the Guerrilla and the Himalayan may share the Sherpa 450, the ergonomics and the stance will make the handling of both bikes a bit different on how they act on roads. Keep a note that while Himalayan is an adventure tourer, the Guerrilla is carved out for a more urban use case which will still be effective in other areas too.
