The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 ADV is one of the most-awaited bike launches of this year. RE has been developing the all-new Himalayan for a long now. However, breaking the confusion of the launch timeline, RE has now realised the first-ever teaser of it. The teaser video shows a glimpse of the upcoming ADV which is seen riding in the upper Himalayas. Read all of its details below. Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 - What To Expect?
As seen in the video, the production-ready Himalayan looks almost similar to the spied test mules. While the complete bike is not seen in the video, there is a glimpse of it to give hints. The tyres seen in one frame show spoke rims. This could mean that the tyres will be tube-type as on the current model as well. Additionally, the side shots showcase the new 450cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. This engine will be the first-ever liquid-cooled powertrain from RE. It is expected to generate power of around 40 bhp & peak torque of around 45 Nm. Also, a 6-speed gearbox shall be offered on it.
Other design details include a big fuel tank with side extensions fitted with luggage/pannier mounts. These mounts will be functional and would prove beneficial for long touring. Also, the new all-digital single-pod instrument console is visible with a transparent windshield. The handlebar will be tubular but the switchgear will be all-new. We also expect it to offer features like Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, USB charging slot, etc. The lights on it will be LED only. The headlight seen in the teaser is similar to the one of Super Meteor 650. However, the rear design will be unique as it'll get brake lights integrated into turn indicators. RE has also shown the coordinates where it is expected to launch. The co-ordinates translate towards Manali; where we suspect its first ride will be conducted.
Verdict
The new Himalayan 450 will offer a completely new package. It'll not only get a new engine but it'll be bigger and more capable as well. Hardware like USD forks, new chassis, etc., shall transform it into a better machine. We're expecting that RE will debut it by September-end while its Indian debut shall take place around October-end. Pricing will be a key factor with its launch. Our anticipation is that it'll be priced around Rs 2.75 lakh.
