Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 - This Is How It'll Look Like!
As seen in the latest leaked photos online, the Himalayan 450 design is completely revealed. It'll get some major updates to its overall body. RE has developed it on a new chassis with unique design elements. At the front, it gets an LED headlight like the Super Meteor 650, USD forks, taller windscreen. The side profile has a sculpted fuel tank, bigger tank shrouds, & bigger pannier mounts.
Also, the riding position on it will be comfortable due to the raised handlebar & centre-set footpegs. The tail design is unique as it'll get a brake light embedded into the turn indicators. These will be LEDs for sure. Also, the split seat setup will be revised with additional cushioning. The spotted bike also has a top box mount at the rear.
Meanwhile, the feature list on the new Himalayan will be lucrative for new buyers. As seen in the leaked images, it'll get a round digital instrument console. We also expect it to get Bluetooth phone connectivity and a Tripper navigation system. Meanwhile, rumours suggest that RE will also offer multiple riding modes on the new ADV model.
Another new addition is going to be the first-ever liquid-cooled engine on an RE. It'll get a 450cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. This long-stroke engine is expected to eliminate the top-end performance issue of the current model. We expect that it'll generate a peak power in the likes of 40 bhp & a peak torque of around 45 bhp. A 6-speed transmission with a slipper clutch shall also be on offer as standard.
Verdict
Himalayan has been a very successful product for RE globally. The new bike has a lot of anticipations attached to it. With rivals like KTM Adventure 390, RE is expected to take on the competition strongly with this new model. The launch timeline is still unknown but we expect it to debut in the coming weeks. Also, the overall upgrades on it will cost more for sure. Hence, the Himalayan 450 could cost at least Rs 2.75 lakh upon its global launch.
