RE Himalayan 650 ADV Details
As seen in the leaked document, a silhouette of the bike is visible. The design of it looks quite intriguing as it looks like a proper premium ADV. Midst the confusion of what's happening, let us explain to you briefly. Royal Enfield is going to expand its 650cc lineup profoundly by 2023. It will include the launch of Super Meteor 650 and then Scrambler 650. However, a bigger Himalayan is also expected since the 650 twins were introduced. But, due to complexions, the ADV plan was held up by the management as we suspect. Now, as the Scrambler is under construction; a new Himalayan does not sound anything less good.
Meanwhile, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is also going to debut next year. It will replace the current Himalayan. But, the 650cc ADV will be placed against the bigger rivals like the Kawasaki Versys 650 & Triumph Tiger Sport 660. Additionally, it will have a bigger design with a long vertical front layout. As it will have a 650cc engine, the mechanicals is also expected to outgrow the current bike. Meanwhile, expecting the latest tech like ride-by-wire, Bluetooth connectivity, riding modes, etc., is not a big deal.
Verdict
No matter how good the 650cc Himalayan name sounds good; its plan is still in the initial phase. We think that RE will take its time as it took for making the Super Meteor. Hence, a better product in the form of ADV shall emerge to us sometime later next year or maybe even in 2024. Who knows? But, until it gets to that stage; there's a lot more incoming from the brand soon.
