In line with our earlier report, Skoda India has added a few safety features to Kushaqs top-spec trim as per the customer's demand. In accordance, the Czech carmaker has also announced a hike in prices, which means the Style trim of 1.0-litre TSI and the 1.5-litre TSI engine variants of the Skoda Kushaq will now cost Rs 16.20 lakhs (ex-showroom) and Rs 18 lakhs (ex-showroom) respectively.
With the introduction of the Kushaq, the compact SUV segment has got more competitive. The new SUV has a commanding stance and striking design aesthetics.

Skoda announced two new updates in the top-line Style automatic variants of Kushaq. The mid-size SUV now features six airbags (earlier used to come with only two) and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The Style variants of both the trims will now get this updated safety tech.
With the update in the safety features of the car, Skoda also announced that both the cars will now face a hike of Rs 40,000. 1.0-litre TSI Style AT is now priced at Rs 16.20 lakhs (ex-showroom) whereas it used to retail at Rs 15.80 lakhs (ex-showroom) earlier. The 1.5-litre TSI Style DSG is now priced at Rs 18 lakhs (ex-showroom), which used to retail at Rs 17.60 lakhs (ex-showroom).
These two safety features used to be only available in manual variants earlier. However, based on the customer's feedback, Skoda decided to start offering them even on the automatic model.
Other safety features the SUV comes equipped with include ABS with EBD, a multi-collision braking system, TCS, Hill Start Assist, rear-parking camera, Hill Hold Control, Anti-Slip Regulation and Motor Slip Regulation, Roll Over Protection, Brake Disc Wiping, Electronic Stability Control, and Electronic Differential Locking System.

Both the engine variants come with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. However, the 1.0-litre variant also comes with a six-speed torque converter automatic option, while the 1.5-litre variant offers a seven-speed DSG.
Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun are the first products of VW Group's India 2.0 project. Both the machines are made in and for India. The Kushaq is on sale in two engine variants - a 1.0-litre TSI three-cylinder engine that produces 116 PS of power and 178 Nm of peak torque, and a 1.5-litre TSI EVO four-cylinder engine that produces 150 PS of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque.
