Skoda is ready to introduce another hot looking sedan in the market and the car will hit the Indian roads by 2022. The company claims to commence the deliveries by April. The Skoda Slavia engine options were recently revealed by the carmaker and the car will be available in three trims - Active, Ambition, and Style.
The sedan will be powered by a choice of two turbocharged petrol engines - 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI engine that is capable of churning out 115bhp of maximum power and 178 Nm of peak torque and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI engine that can produce 150bhp of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque .

The 1.0-litre petrol engine will come mated to a six-speed manual and six-speed torque converter automatic transmission and the 1.5-litre petrol engine will be equipped with a quick-shifting dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The entry-level trim, Active will be powered by a 1.0-litre TSi motor mated to a manual transmission. The mid-spec variant, Ambition will be powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine mated to a manual and automatic gearbox. The Style variant will be available with both engine choices and manual and automatic transmission.
Skoda is ready to introduce Slavia in the market that will replace the existing Skoda Rapid which has already been in the market for the past ten years. The upcoming sedan will be more powerful than Rapid and more spacious as well. Slavia will be the first sedan to come up with active cylinder technology (ACT) which is also there in the all-new Tiguan. The upcoming sedan will be 1752 mm in width, 4541 mm in length, and 1487mm in height that makes it 53 mm wider, 21 mm taller and 128 mm in length than the existing Rapid.
Skoda for the first time has introduced a longer wheelbase which makes it more spacious than its two other direct rivals - Hyundai Verna and Honda City with a wheelbase of 2651 mm. It is also 99 mm longer than Rapid and has the biggest boot space in the segment of 520 litres. Skoda Slavia is the second product from Skoda's Made-In-India project.
