Skoda, with the launch of its India 2.0 project, is ready to introduce the second new product for our market. It officially revealed two sketches of the Slavia to give a glimpse of the upcoming sedan. After the entry of Kushaq into the market, Slavia will also be built on the same MQB AO IN platform produced in Pune. It is expected that the carmaker will officially present the upcoming sedan in November 2021 and will likely place itself against the likes of Rapid.
The sketches that have been revealed show the front and rear design language of the car. Skoda has derived Slavias name from the early days of the company and the first bicycles sold in Mlad᠂oleslav from 1896 by founding fathers Vᣬav Laurin and Vᣬav Klement and means glory in the Czech language.

Glancing at the sketches revealed, the automotive giants have given an idea about the exterior design language of the car. The sedan upfront is equipped with a hexagonal wide grille, new bumper design, LED headlights integrated with L-shaped LED DRLs, larger tyre size with alloy wheels, longer wheelbase and a coupe type design language of the sedan will hit the markets hard.

That was all about the front looks and let's take a look at the second sketch that shows the rear profile of the sedan. Skoda Slavia front the rear looks advanced and updated. It comes with a new rear bumper design, roofline sloping towards the rear merging gently with the boot lid, distinctive looks, rear apron with chrome strips, and attractive tail lights. The sedan carries a new taillight design extended to the boot lid. The sedan looks different and unique with its new exterior design language. The sedan from the front looks inspired by its elder sibling, Octavia.

It is difficult to comment on the interior of the car as nothing has been officially revealed so far. The sedan is engineered and developed locally in Pune which is built on the same platform that is used in Kushaq, meeting Indias new safety and emissions norms.
Skoda is expected to power the Slavia by 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines and will compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City, and Hyundai Verna. It is also being heard that after the launch of Slavia, the company will discontinue its existing Rapid from its line-up. The upcoming Slavia will be a premium sedan in its line-up. The sedan is expected to be launched at Rs 10 lakhs and Rs 17 lakhs (ex-showroom).
