Tata Altroz is a very popular car in the Indian market. The Altroz is the first premium hatchback from Tata Motors and it was launched in India earlier this year, in January 2020 to be precise. In January, it was launched in five variants but now the company is planning to soon launch a new variant of the Altroz. The XM+ variant of the Tata Altroz will be launched very soon and it will be loaded with a lot of features. Here are all the details about it.
The new XM+ variant of the Tata Altroz will slot in between its XM and XT variants. As we all know Altroz is a premium hatch and so it rivals against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Honda Jazz, Toyota Glanza and Hyundai i20 in India. The launch of the new-gen i20 is just around the corner and so Tata Motors might be planning to launch this new variant to lure the prospective buyers. Talking about the new add-ons and features in this XM+ variant, it will get steering-mounted controls, R16 wheels with full wheel covers, etc.

The major feature upgrade in the XM+ variant will be the addition of a touchscreen system. It will get a big 7.0-inch floating-type touchscreen infotainment system by Harman with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The new XM+ variant will also get voice alerts and voice command recognition and a remote foldable key. These feature additions with the launch of the new mid-spec XM+ variant will surely make it a great buying package as we know Tata is going to price it very aggressively.
Talking about the engine options, the Altroz XM+ will be currently launched only with a petrol engine option and the launch of the oil-burner will follow in December. It will get a BS6-compliant 1.2-litre, naturally-aspirated, three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine. This motor churns out 86 PS of power and 113 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It will also get a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder Revotorq diesel engine. This motor churns out 90 PS of power and 200 Nm of peak torque. The oil-burner comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
