Tata Curvv EV, Nexon EV Gets Free Charging But With These Conditions
Tata Motors is offering a special promotion for customers who purchase the Nexon EV or Tata Curvv EV between December 9 and December 31, 2024, providing free charging at Tata Power EZ's network of over 5,500 charging stations across India. This offer, which was also available during the festive season from September 10 to October 31, can be activated within two days of registering the vehicle on the Tata Power EZ Charge app. The offer is valid only for first owners of privately registered vehicles purchased from a Tata dealership. However, it comes with a cap of 1,000 units of electricity or six months from the purchase date, whichever is earlier, after which standard tariff charges will apply.
While Tata Motors electric vehicles are performing well in the sustainable segment, their sales still lag far behind those of their internal combustion engine counterparts. To boost the sales of the Nexon EV and Curvv EV before the year ends, Tata is offering this exciting opportunity to make the deal more shiny. The Nexon EV is priced between Rs 12.49 lakh and Rs 17.19 lakh, while the Curvv EV, a coupe-SUV, comes with a price tag ranging from Rs 17.49 lakh to Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This initiative is part of Tata's effort to encourage more customers to adopt their electric vehicles and increase their market share in the EV space.

Tata Motors To Hike Prices From Next Month
Tata Motors India is set to increase the prices of its entire lineup by 3%, with the exact hike varying by model and variant. The company has cited rising material costs and inflation as the reasons behind this price adjustment. In addition to the price hike, rumors suggest that Tata Motors is planning to introduce a Battery As A Service (BaaS) option for the Nexon EV, allowing customers to purchase the vehicle at a more affordable price while opting for a battery subscription based on their usage. This move could potentially extend to Tata's other electric vehicles as well, making them more accessible to the masses.
Verdict
The move to offer free charge for customers could break the initial barriers to entry that holds back customers from switching to an EV. Although it still does not take the range anxiety away or aid in that sense, the free juice-up is something that will create that pull, which every free offer has on all of us!
