Tata Curvv ICE's New Engine Teased: What To Expect?

Tata Curvv ICE

Tata Curvv ICE will likely come with three engine options. The most exciting is the new 1.2-litre TGDi engine, which Tata has dubbed the "HYPERION engine" on social media. This turbocharged 3-cylinder engine with Gasoline Direct Injection is expected to produce over 122 Bhp and around 225 Nm of torque. It will also meet the BS6 Phase 2 emission standards.

While the engine choices are familiar, the introduction of this improved powertrain has added excitement. This new and enhanced engine is likely to make the Curvv more appealing.

In addition to the 1.2-litre TGDi engine, the Curvv will also offer two other familiar ICE powertrain options. There will be a 1.5-litre diesel engine paired with a six-speed manual or an AMT unit. The other option is a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine, similar to the one available in the Nexon.

The Curvv's powertrain options are expected to be diverse, including five-speed manual, six-speed manual, AMT, and seven-speed DCT units, just like in the Nexon.

Tata Curvv: Features & Launch Time

The Tata Curvv will come with many high-end features, including a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a digital driver display, and fully automatic climate control. It will also offer a wireless charger, nine speakers, a panoramic sunroof with mood lighting, a 360-degree camera, six airbags, ABS, parking sensors, and a Level 2 ADAS suite for advanced driver assistance.

The Curvv (ICE and EV) will be debut on August 7. The ICE variant will compete with models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, and more.

Verdict

Given the demand for small urban cars and improving EV infrastructure, there is good scope for new models under the Rs 10 lakh bracket. The Leapmotor T03 might not be the most striking EV, but it ticks all the right boxes as a solution for urban mobility.
