Tata Motors, the popular homegrown carmaker, has become the first local carmaker to have onboarded 10,000 EV customers. With this, it has got clear that there is a growing demand for the all-electric variants of the Nexon as well as the Tigor. These 10,000 customers can be viewed as the early birds who have taken the plunge into the fast-expanding world of electric cars.
Buoyed by the response to its electric vehicles, Tata Motors has stated that it has come up with a highly feasible roadmap for its future electric models. It even pledges to play an important role in making electric vehicles a staple of the car buying lot.

Sharing his views on the crossing of the 10,000 electric car sales milestone, Mr. Shailesh Chandra, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors said, The achievement of 10,000 EVs on road is a strong testament to how our innovative electric vehicles are resonating well with customers. We are proud to have lived up to the high expectations of the early EV adopters and are thankful to them for their continued trust in the brand. These customers have laid a strong foundation for EV ownership to further expand and have created a path for other prospective buyers to follow.
Last month, Tata Motors became the first-ever carmaker in India to record the sale of 1,000 units of electric vehicles. It has, in fact, even managed to capture a 70 per cent market share (YTD FY22). This strong sales performance is in line with the carmaker's vision of defining a sustainable future in the auto market. Helping Tata Motors realise this goal is the group of other Tata companies, including Tata Chemicals, Tata Power, Tata Motors Finance, Tata Autocomp, and Croma. These entities have worked in tandem with each other thru Tata UniEVerse, an exclusive e-mobility ecosystem.
