The Punch is Tata Motor's second best-selling car after the Nexon. It regularly features in the list of top 10 best-selling cars in India. But, many people have been waiting for the EV version of Tata Punch. Tata was also expected to show the Punch EV at the 2023 auto expo, but they didn't. Moreover, there have been no major updates on it until now. Finally, Tata Punch EV has been spotted for the very first time. The camouflaged vehicle seems like a test mule being transported on a car hauler. Although the vehicle is camouflaged, its interiors are clearly visible and that's where there are some exciting elements. In this article, we have discussed all the exciting features that the first spy images of the Punch EV reveal.
Tata Punch EV Spotted For The 1st Time: What's New On The Exterior?
The Tata Punch EV's exterior mostly looks identical to the ICE/petrol version of it. However, closely looking at the rear wheel, the disc brakes can be seen. This means Punch EV will come with all four disc brakes, unlike its ICE/petrol version. Moreover, it gets all the exterior features like a rear wiper + washer, front fog lamps, projector headlamps, reverse camera, 16-inch alloys, etc, just like the petrol Punch.
Tata Punch EV Spotted For The 1st Time: What's New In The Interior?
In the interior, the spy images reveal a lot of details. There's a rotary knob (drive mode selector) just like the one we see in Nexon EV Max. This rotary knob also seems to be having a display to show the drive modes, just like the Nexon EV Max. Below the rotary knob, there is an electric parking brake with an auto hold button. This feature in Tata Punch will be a segment-first addition. Moreover, further below, there are some buttons that look like buttons to control the regen levels (multi-mode regen/regenerative braking), like other Tata EVs.

Verdict: In these first spy images, the Punch EV seems like a finished product and not like a product that is in its early stages of development. This means that Tata might launch it much sooner than expected, maybe by the end of this year or early next year.
