Tata Motors has made efforts in improving the fuel economy of the Safari, without making any changes to the powertrain. The 2023 Tata Safari facelift retains the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, generating 168 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or an optional 6-speed automatic gearbox.
For the manual variant, Tata Motors claims a fuel economy of 16.30 kilometers per liter (kmpl). This represents a minor 0.14 kmpl increase over the outgoing model, indicating that the facelifted Safari is not only more stylish but also more efficient. The automatic version, equipped with the 6-speed automatic transmission, gets more improvement. The fuel efficiency to 14.50 kmpl for the automatic variant. It is a minor 0.42 kmpl increase compared to its predecessor.
Design & Feature Updates
The Tata Safari has always been a head-turner with its bold, imposing presence, and the facelift doesn't disappoint in this regard. The front fascia has undergone a noticeable transformation with a new grille, sleeker headlamps, and updated fog lamp housing, all of which add a touch of sophistication to the SUV's aesthetic. The rear end features redesigned tail lamps and a revamped bumper, giving the Safari a fresh and contemporary look.
Inside the cabin, Tata Motors has taken it up a notch, offering plush upholstery, premium materials, and cutting-edge technology. The dashboard has been reworked to accommodate an updated 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The Safari's three-row seating arrangement remains intact, ensuring ample space and comfort for passengers. Also, the front seats are 6-way power adjustable. Meanwhile, the whole design & cabin are inspired by the Curvv concept.
Verdict
The new Safari facelift is aimed to improve the shortcomings of the old model. Also, Tata wants to introduce its new design philosophy among audience via the new model. Price of the facelift is not yet revealed but the bookings have already started at an amount of Rs 25,000. We anticipate that the facelift will be priced marginally higher than the outgoing model.
