Tata Motors has updated the top-of-the-line variants of Safari with new features. The XT and XZ trims have been received additional equipment just days before the advent of the Mahindra XUV700. With its XT and XTA variants, Tata is offering additional features like an air purifier whereas, with its XZ and XZA variants, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto have been added along with wifi, wireless charger, and an air purifier as well.

Tata Safari can now be called a fully feature-loaded car as it packs a bunch of goodies inside the cabin. These include ventilated front and middle seats, genuine leather upholstery in Oyster white finish, sophisticated marble finish dashboard (only with Gold Edition models), and the handful of features mentioned earlier.
Tata Safari also comes with an auto-dimming IRVM, Xenon HID projector headlamps, panoramic sunroof, 8.8-inch infotainment screen that is now compatible with wireless smartphone connectivity, a nine-speaker audio system from JBL, 7-inch digital drivers display, and a six-way electronically adjustable driver seat.

Glancing at the list of safety features, Tata offers advanced ESP with 14 added functionalities, electronic parking brake with auto hold, six airbags, hill hold control, hill descent control, TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), front fog-lamps with cornering capabilities, and perimetric alarm system.
Tata Safari is built on the same platform as that of Harrier- OMEGA-ARC (Optical Modular Efficient Global Advanced Architecture) derived from the Land Rovers D8 platform. It is powered by a 2.0-litre Kryotec turbocharged diesel engine which can produce a maximum power of 170 PSs along with 350 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission as standard while a 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission is also on offer.

The entry-level trims XE and XM with manual transmission are priced at Rs 14.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Rs 16.53 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively. On the other hand, the entry-level automatic trims XMA and XTA+ are priced at Rs 17.80 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Rs 20.08 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), respectively.

The recently launched Tata Safari Gold Edition trims - XZ+ Gold and XZ+ Gold 6-seater manual - are priced at Rs 21.90 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) whereas the automatic XZA+ Gold and XZA+ Gold 6-Seater are priced at Rs 23.18 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
