Skoda recently launched the BS6 compliant Rapid at a tempting starting price of Rs 7.49 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. This comes as a shock since at this price it counters very much the likes of every compact sedan and Skoda plans to sell this unit as much as possible. Now, another shocker which Skoda dropped was the discontinuation of the 1.5L oil burner. The reliable diesel unit was favourite among enthusiasts and some even modified their Skoda Rapid under the hood.
Skoda not only discontinued the 1.5L diesel but also the 1.6L MPI and it now comes with a three-cylinder 1.0L turbo petrol engine only. This unit now develops 110 bhp with 175 Nm of peak torque. Now, coming to the modified Skoda Rapid then today we have a diesel one which makes as much as 130 bhp. That's a 20 bhp increase from the stock!
Sharing more details on this 1.5L diesel modified Skoda Rapid then it gets Code6 ECU tune and Stafe1 TVS Engineering TCU remap. To further increase the stability of the Rapid at higher speeds it now gets Eibach Pro-kit lowering springs along with Eibach rear sway bar.

This one also gets a Racingline performance intake filter. The usage of an intake filter is identical to you using oxygen to survive. And here, the mechanicals suggests that the cool air is required by the engine for better combustion.
The owner Murshid Markan who also goes by the name 'The Blue Lagoon Official' on Instagram. The name does justice to the colour itself. This one now sits on 16-inch 7J Momo quantum rims wrapped in 205/50/16 Michelin rubber. Do notice that it also gets the chrome delete package.
Coming towards the interiors then it gets the same black and beige colour theme which makes it premium. What's new is the OEM spec flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters. Yes, this unit is the same as found in the Skoda Octavia vRS.

In other news, the new Skoda Rapid BS6 gets an updated 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. It comes with modern connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The new Rapid also comes in Onyx and Monte Carlo editions too. The prices start from Rs 7.49 lakh and the top-end trims cost about Rs 11.79 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
