- The new Nexon facelift is expected to be loaded with new & advanced features
- Likely to be launched by the end of 2023 or early 2024
Tata Nexon has been one of the most successful models in the history of the Indian automaker. First launched in 2017, the compact SUV has managed to grab India's highest-selling SUV title multiple times. However, the compact SUV segment is now becoming more competitive with the arrival of updated/facelifted, tech & feature-loaded rivals like the Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, etc. Thus the Tata Nexon is in dire need of an update or a facelift.
Well, it seems Tata is listening to the market needs. Recently, several test mules of the Tata Nexon facelift have been spotted. The camouflaged test vehicles of Nexon facelift clearly suggest a new design inspired by Tata's Concept Curvv. Also, the way Tata recently updated the Safari & Harrier with many advanced & tech-loaded features, we expect a similar transformation in the new facelifted Nexon's interior & cabin. Therefore, here we present to you the top 5 features that you can expect from the upcoming Tata Nexon facelift.
Tata Nexon Facelift: New Infotainment System
The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the current Tata Nexon truly seems too small, outdated, and old school. It truly needs to be upgraded. Well, now Tata has finally developed a new 10.24-inch large touchscreen infotainment system for its vehicles. The new Infotainment system was first showcased in the Safari, Harrier & Altroz during the 2023 auto expo. The newly launched 2023 Safari & Harrier are the first Tata models to get this new infotainment system. The company has said that the new touchscreen infotainment system will slowly replace the old 7-inch unit in all of its vehicles. Thus we can expect the new facelifted Nexon to be launched with Tata's new infotainment system.
The new 10.24-inch infotainment system from Tata also gets a new user interface with new UI elements like pages & live widgets. It now looks modern and up-to-date. It now supports 200+ voice commands in 6 different Indian languages. Tata has also improved the screen resolution, touch sensitivity, touch response, smoothness, and speed of the system. When launched, this new infotainment system will help Nexon to match up to the Kia Sonet which presently gets the biggest and most advanced infotainment system in the segment.
Tata Nexon Facelift: New Instrument Cluster
The current Nexon gets an instrument cluster similar to that of Tata Tiago & Tigor. Even the Tata Punch & Tata Altroz, which sit below the Nexon, get a much better semi-digital cluster. This is set to change with the Nexon facelift. Tata is expected to give the Nexon the new 7-inch instrument cluster display from the new 2023 Safari & Harrier. The new instrument cluster display will be more informative and have a better layout. Unlike the current Nexon's instrument cluster which gets an oddly placed TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) info, the facelifted Nexon will have the TPMS info integrated into the new cluster display. Also, the new facelifted Nexon will finally get the turn-by-turn navigation information integrated into the new cluster display.
Tata Nexon Facelift: Engine & Transmission
At the 2023 auto expo, Tata showcased the Altroz Racer edition with a more powerful 1.2 litre revotron turbo petrol engine. Moreover, there was also a new 1.2-litre TGDi petrol engine developed in-house by Tata Motors. Tata will most probably equip the new facelifted Nexon with one of these two engines. It is for sure that the facelifted Nexon will generate more power & torque and will be more powerful than the current model. We also expect Tata to equip the new facelifted Nexon with the advanced DCA/DCT automatic transmission, replacing the 6-speed AMT automatic in the current model. Already available in Tata Altroz, the DCA/DCT will help Nexon to match up to compact SUVs like Hyundai Venue & Kia Sonet which already offer an advanced DCT gearbox.
Tata Nexon Facelift: 360-Degree View Camera
The 2023 Tata Safari & Tata Harrier are now equipped with a 360-degree view camera system. This new camera system gets a much-improved resolution & low-light clarity. Here, Tata has done a great job. Now we expect the brand to bring this 360-degree camera system to the Nexon facelift too. This would help Nexon to give tough competition to Maruti Brezza which is the only car in the segment to offer a 360-degree camera system.
Tata Nexon Facelift: ADAS Tech
The recently launched 2023 Safari & Harrier have become the first Tata models to get the ADAS features. The radar + camera-based ADAS system in 2023 Safari & Harrier is said to be developed in-house by Tata Motors. If not all the ADAS features from the 2023 Safari & Harrier, we expect Tata to offer at least some of the ADAS features like front collision warning, auto emergency braking, lane departure warning, and auto high beam assist in the Nexon facelift.

Verdict: When launched, the facelifted Nexon will become one of the most tech & feature-loaded vehicles in the compact SUV segment. It is already the safest choice in the segment with its 5-star Global NCAP safety rating. What it needs is a bit more power & performance, and some more features. We expect that the new Tata Nexon facelift will have it all.
