In November 2023, the Toyota Hilux is experiencing a waiting period of up to four weeks across all variants on a pan-India level. This timeline holds true for the entire range of the pickup and extends until the end of the month. Notably, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) introduced a noteworthy 70 percent buyback scheme for the Hilux earlier in the year. In March, substantial price reductions of Rs. 3.60 lakh (ex-showroom) were implemented. The Hilux is presently offered in three variants, namely Standard MT, High MT, and High AT.
Powertrain Options
Mechanically, the Hilux comes with a 2.8-liter, four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine producing 204hp and 420Nm of torque (500Nm in the case of the automatic variant). Transmission options include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Above all, the Hilux comes with a four-wheel-drive system as standard. Along with a low-range gearbox, front, and rear electronic differential locks, it gets impressive off-road credentials. It boasts an approach angle of 29 degrees, a departure angle of 26 degrees, and a water-wading capacity of 700mm. As a result, these features contribute to the Hilux's prowess in handling challenging terrains and adverse driving conditions.
