Back in April we were the first ones to break the story of upcoming 2022 MG Hector SUV. The images did hint at updated exteriors and now the company has officially disclosed one of the biggest changes on the inside. The updated model will get a 14" HD infotainment system which means the centrally placed screen will be the biggest ever on an Indian car. MG will also add more features to the system including enhanced connectivity apps.
The Hector facelift or the Next-Gen Hector (as the company calls it) will be launched soon and apart from the updated system, will also get more features and design tweaks. A big welcome addition will be ADAS that MG had introduced in the Astor as well. We expect the Hector to come with Level 2 ADAS and this will increase both safety as well as convenience factor for the driver. On the outside, the model might get minor changes to the grille and bumpers.
The 2022 MG Hector will continue to come with both petrol and diesel engine options. Automatic is offered with the former while the latter only comes with a manual 'box. The company might tweak the engines for higher fuel economy. At this stage, it is not known if the updates will only be reserved for the regular 2 row Hector or will be offered in the 3 row Hector Plus as well. The Hector has been a success for MG in India, offering excellent value for money, spacious interiors and a very comfortable ride.
We also expect a minor hike in terms of prices. The range currently starts from Rs 14.1 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. Watch this space for more updates on the vehicle.
