BYD Atto 3 Facelift: Design Updates

The updated BYD Atto 3 facelift has been revealed globally and they're clearly going for a more grown-up vibe. The front's where you'll see the biggest change, with the air intakes and bumper, making it look a lot smoother. And, a new camera up front means they're beefing up the driver assistance tech, but more on this later. Down the side, the wheels now get sportier alloys, and there's a new paint job that's definitely more understated and will grow upon you. The rest of the body including the arches, the cladding, and the handles have been retained from the current model.

The rear's got a few tweaks too. The roof spoiler gets a bit more character, with the twin-stripe brake lights built right in. The tail lights now come with a cool intertwined pattern making it look more appealing than before. Although you might be irked to see what they've done inside, but its being kept under wraps for now.

Although you can expect a bunch of new features coming in, we'll have to wait and see. However, the BYD Atto 3 facelift also introduces an ADAS system named the God's Eye, a significant leap in its driver-assistance technology, utilizing a comprehensive network of three windshield-mounted cameras, four surround-view cameras, five long-range cameras, five mm-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, and a total of 29 sensors. Basically, this update is aimed to polish up the Atto 3 and make it a bit more refined, without losing its personality. Some new tech tweaked the looks and big interior upgrades. Not a bad refresh, really.

Battery And Range Details
The BYD Atto 3 facelift is likely to maintain its core mechanical foundation and carry forward the current options, offering two LFP battery options: a 60.5kWh variant delivering a 420km WLTP range, and a 49.9kWh version with a 345km WLTP range, both powered by a single front-mounted motor producing 204hp and 310Nm of torque. Thus, the focus of the facelift appears to be on design and technological upgrades, particularly in its ADAS capabilities, rather than alterations to its fundamental powertrain.
As for the launch timeline, the brand has not revealed any India-specific plans, but going by the expansion strategy of BYD, it would be introduced soon in the Indian market as well.
Verdict
The updated Atto 3 is mostly focused on the features on board along with certain visual tweaks that uplifts the overall appeal of the all electric SUV. Considering how the brand is focusing on its India expansion plan with the recently launched BYD Sealion 7, this facelift model could be introduced very soon after the international launch.
