Bajaj CNG Bike: What To Expect?
As seen in the close-up spy photo, it is going to be a commuter-centric bike. The design appears to be radical though. It has a long single seat that extends up to the fuel tank. Also, the knuckle guards hint that it'll be a rugged bike to use. The alloy wheels will help in reducing the weight as well as add to the aesthetics. Moreover, the tail section doesn't get a taillight for now. Probably, a near-production-ready model will get it.
The spied model is seen testing with the Platina 110. This can also possibly mean that Bajaj is eyeing to churn an equal performance to the Platina. While there are no details known about its powertrain, we suspect that it'll get an engine capacity somewhere between 100-125cc. A large CNG tank along with a small petrol fuel tank will fuel the bike.
Pricing is going to be a crucial factor. Bajaj is known for aggressive pricing and with the CNG model we expect a similar strategy. A bracket between Rs 80,000 to Rs 90,000 is our expectation for its launch price. The launch timeline is already revealed. Bajaj aims to introduce it by mid-2024.
Verdict
The CNG bike idea is superb from Bajaj. While the EVs are struggling with lack of infra and high production costs, CNG fuel option will become a great way to cut down fuel expenses. Tell us in the comments what you think about this upcoming CNG motorcycle from Bajaj.
