Bajaj Pulsar N125: Design & Features

Bajaj Pulsar N125

As seen in the close-up spy shots, the test bike has a sporty commuter design. The sharp design elements like the extended fuel tank shrouds, upswept tail section, and split seats, make it look like a sporty bike. Also, it is possible that it'll get an LED headlight similar to the bigger Pulsar N150. The overall design silhouette of the bike adds a young appeal to it.

Feature-wise, it will expectedly get LED lights, halogen turn indicators, a digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, and a USB phone charging slot. The digital instrument console is likely to be carried from the newly updated Pulsar N250. Bajaj has been equipping its Pulsar lineup including the Pulsar 220F and the old Pulsar 150 with this new setup. This screen also supports turn-by-turn navigation.

Bajaj Pulsar N125: Engine & Hardware

While the engine details are still unknown, we suspect that it'll be powered by the same engine as the Pulsar 125. It is a 125cc single-cylinder air-cooled unit that uses an EFI to develop a peak power output of 11.64 bhp and 10.8 Nm of peak torque. It'll come mated to a 5-speed transmission. However, a few online reports hint that it could get a downsized version of the Pulsar N150's engine.

The hardware setup is visible through spy photos displaying a box-type swingarm design. The chassis will be a new one but it will use cycle parts from the other Pulsar models. Additionally, the test bike is seen with 17-inch alloy wheels similar to the Pulsar N150. A disc-drum brake setup is also visible but the absence of an ABS ring at the front makes it clear that it'll not get an ABS. However, a combined braking system (CBS) could be offered as standard. The front suspension is a telescopic unit with a fork gaitor kit while at the rear it uses a monoshock setup.

Launch, Price, Rivals

Currently, Bajaj has scheduled the launch of its upcoming CNG bike on July 5. Post that, the next motorcycle launch would be of this new Pulsar model. Hence, we expect that it'll be launched before the upcoming festive season. As it'll rival commuter bikes like the TVS Raider 125 & Hero Xtreme 125R, its pricing will be in a similar ballpark. Our anticipation is that Bajaj will position it around the Rs 90,000 mark.

Verdict

Bajaj already has numerous motorcycles ranging between 110-150cc. However, a sporty-looking commuter bike with the latest features and a new design is never a bad idea. Bajaj surely knows that this product could pull more sales numbers if priced correctly. More details regarding it will be revealed once we witness the launch of CNG bike.
