It is a widely known fact that Jeep is currently developing a new 7-seater SUV which is expected to be positioned above the Jeep Compass in the Indian market. This new SUV will be rivalling against cars like the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, and MG Gloster. In addition to the underpinnings and some body panels, this upcoming Jeep 7-seater SUV will also share its engine with the Jeep Compass. However, it is worth noting that this 2.0-L diesel engine will be tuned to deliver better power and torque output in the new 7-seat model.
This new 7-seater SUV from Jeep will be powered by a 2.0-L four-cylinder turbo diesel engine. This engine is expected to deliver around 200 hp and may come mated to a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Just like the compass, this new SUV will be based on a monocoque platform which can also be seen in the Compass. However, this platform will be made longer in length to accommodate the third row of seats.

In addition to this, the wheelbase and the length of the vehicle too will be bigger when compared to the Compass. In terms of the overall design, the Jeep 7-seater SUV will be largely similar to the Compass. Some cosmetic tweaks will be made to the vehicle to differentiate it from the Compass.
While we are not aware of the features list which will be on offer with this new SUV, we do expect the brand to offer the vehicle with a panoramic sunroof, full-LED auto headlamps, 18-inch wheels, cruise control, ESp, etc. The vehicle is expected to be launched in the Indian market in the second half of 2021.
