The Yamaha Aerox 155 made its debut in the Indian market in September 2021 and ever since then, brought in considerable sales figures for the brand. The scooter boasts the R15 engine, sporty dynamics, and an exclusive styling that helps it offer a fresh experience to the scooter buyers in the country. With a starting price of INR 1.32 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Aerox 155 was considered an expensive scooter but despite that, did not fail to surprise the manufacturer with its demand in the Indian market. Yamaha recently confirmed that it will be increasing the production of the scooter and will make the Aerox available at more Yamaha dealers. Here are all the details that you should check out.
The Yamaha Aerox 155 was currently being sold via the Yamaha Blue Square dealers and has a waiting period of over 90 days at some places. The brand is now working on boosting the production of the scooter and will be working on improving the supply chains. Having said this, the brand will also introduce the Aerox 155 at the Yamaha dealers in the country. Yamaha also shared that the semi-conductor chip shortage is one of the prominent factors affecting production.
There are multiple cities in Delhi that don't have a Yamaha Blue Square dealer including Mumbai and the brand's decision to introduce the Aerox 155 at all the Yamaha dealerships will further help improve the sales of this scooter. Having said this, the Aerox 155 is available with three colour options - Blue, Black, and Grey Vermillion. The brand also introduced the Aerox 155 in Monster Energy MotoGP team colours for a short while.
The Aerox 155 is offered with a 155cc, VVA, single-cylinder engine that churns out 15 hp and 13.9 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to a CVT transmission and offers impressive performance. The Aerox 155 proved itself to be a worthy rival to the scooters like the Aprilia SXR 160 in the Indian market.
