Maruti Wagon R
Maruti Suzuki's and India's best selling car for January 2025 month was Wagon R, and whopping 24,078 units of it were sold. This is a staggering number which is a dream for some automakers, not just in India but globally. To add more, more than 3.2 million Wagon R are sold since its first launch in 2000.

It hasn't just survived but thrived in every decade and is still shining like a diamond in the SUV-dominated era. The price hike for all the CNG and manual transmission variants is Rs 10,000, while the prices for other models like VXi 1.0 AGS, ZXi 1.2 AGS, ZXi+ 1.2 AGS, and dual-tone variants have gone up by Rs 15,000.

Wagon R is, as you all know, known for its low maintenance, tall headroom, fuel efficiency, and easy-to-drive nature. However, many people overlook its second engine option, the 1.2L K-series 4-cylinder engine. As we all know, this engine shines in the Maruti Baleno and Fronx, but in the Wagon R, it truly impresses because this hatchback is light, and the 1.2L engine has enough grunt to push the driver back into the seat, while still achieving an outstanding fuel economy of 23.56 km/l.
That said, even the 1.0L does the job sufficiently, and not once will the driver feel that the car is super slow. Talking about its economy figures - 24.35 km/l with the manual and 25.19 km/l with AGS. If mileage is what you're looking for, the CNG version achieves a staggering 33.47 km/kg.
