We all some to modify and customise our cars to bring out a better version of the vehicle that we own. Modifications not only make the vehicle look better but in addition to this, sometimes also make them more capable and fast. However, no manufacturer wants you to modify the car or make changes to the stock, OEM setup. Here is a list of the top five car modifications that will void the warranty of your car.

Alloy Wheels
Most of the car brands are conservative when it comes to offering good meaty tyres as a stock offering as wider and bigger tyres not only drop the fuel economy by a fair margin but in addition to this are also expensive. However, on the plus side, bigger tyres offer a better grip and offer a stronger stance, and thus the owners are often seen replacing the stock wheels with aftermarket options. While the aftermarket wheels look better, the warranty of the car gets void as they put additional strain on the mechanical parts of the cars including suspension.
Electrical Modifications
A long-range of electrical modification options is available in the market starting from lights, horns, and more. Most of the time, these accessories require an additional power source and thus the stock wiring harness of the car is tampered with. In other cases, these accessories put extra strain on the battery and the alternator. Thus, a brand will not provide any electrical warranty in case there are any electrical modifications made to the car.

Engine Remap
We all want our cars to be fast, don't we? The easiest way to make your car more powerful is to get it remapped. While a number of brands in the market are offering engine remapping services, you should not forget that these modifications can serve as a major reason for the car brand to cancel the warranty of your car. In addition to this, other upgrades like an after-market air filter, larger inter-cooler, etc too car void the warranty of your car.

Exhaust
Exhaust is an important part of the powertrain and has a major role in the combustion cycle. To extra better performance, a number of buyers get a free-flow exhaust setup in their cars. However, this can cause some serious issues in the engine while the car may also start polluting more. In such cases, no manufacturer will offer any type of warranty services to the customers.
Audio
The stock audio setup in most of the cars are often dull and not so loud, thus forcing the audiophiles to upgrade the OEM sound system. However, it is worth noting that if you go overboard with the audio setup and install extremely powerful and resource-consuming devices, the stock electrical system has to bear the additional strain. Audio systems are usually very heavy and can also damage the suspension due to the additional weight. Hence, many brands do not offer a warranty on cars that have after-market audio setups installed.
