The 6-seater version makes it comfortable at every seat.
The large window area in the second row brings a lot of airy feeling inside.
Second-row seats get separate AC controls for the passengers.
The all-LED headlamps have brilliant illumination at night.
All the 6 -seats offer adjustable headrests which is a nice feature on offer.
The 1.5L petrol engine is smooth and refined with a CNG option as well.
In CNG, it offers an exceptional fuel efficiency of 24-26 km/kg on highways.
Comes with paddle shifters in the automatic transmission variant.
What could have been better
Limited to petrol engines only.
Higher variants are not value-for-money options.
Could have offered more features as compared to the rivals.
Should I buy the XL6?
The Maruti Suzuki XL6 is a practical family car with great features, sophisticated styling, and superior comfort on offer. It offers a plush experience inside the cabin and comes equipped with all the good-to-have features in its category. The CNG option availability makes it a more compelling choice to choose. If still you are not convinced about going for XL6 then you can check for other options like Kia Carens as well.
- The Maruti Suzuki XL6 has a very appealing design which differentiates it from its sibling Ertiga. The all-LED headlights with halogen indicators provide a mixed treatment. The throw from these LEDs is exceptionally much better than its rivals. It gets a front parking camera since it has a 360-degree camera on offer. The subtle chrome on the grill provides a premium design.
- Coming to the side profile, it has the same silhouette design as the Ertiga. The design of the alloys is the only change along with a dual-tone paint scheme which is offered in the XL6. it gets request sensors on both sides along with camera placement on the ORVMs.
- The rear profile of the XL6 has a similar design to that of the Ertiga but with a premium appeal to it. The all-LED taillamps give a premium appearance to the rear with halogen indicators.
- Considering the boot space in the XL6, when all three rows are up, then only duffle bags can be stored. When the third row is folded then it has a massive boot for your luggage.
- The cabin ambiance of the XL6 has a more premium appearance compared to its sibling Ertiga. The cabin layout is almost similar to it but it has more features and better touch and feel.
- The 9” infotainment screen gets both wireless connectivity for the Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The screen is slick to use and feels responsive. The steering wheel is flat-bottomed. It has paddle shifters for automatic transmission. This gives it a premium appeal.
- It has many features. These include ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera, and a wireless charger. They provide a premium appeal and the base model itself has all the necessary features that it should offer.
- Coming to the engine front, it is the same unit that we see on other Maruti cars as well. It is the same 1.5L 4-cylinder petrol engine that churns out 105 BHP of power and 137 Nm of peak torque.
- This engine is mated to either a 5-speed MT transmission or a 6-speed automatic torque converter gearbox.
- The manual transmission has a slick gear shifter and the clutch is light. The AT transmission is also decent in operations and gearshifts have a smooth operation.
- The CNG variant is also there in the same manual transmission. Talking about fuel efficiency in both CNG and petrol variants, it returns about 15-17 km/L for petrol in the city conditions. In the CNG mode, it would return about 22-24 km/kg which is a massive number for such an MPV.
- When it comes to seating comfort, XL6 is among the top leads to provide comfort. The 6-seater captain seats version increases the comfort in the middle row. It does this by offering separate seats.
- The seats offer great comfort levels and the cushioning is soft. The large window area gives you a good view of the outside world. The rear AC vents and blower controls pamper the rear seat passengers.
- Coming to the suspension setup of the XL6, is tuned on the softer side to provide top levels of comfort inside the cabin. On good roads, it glides brilliantly. But at high speeds, there is some up-and-down movement that you can feel inside
- The steering provides great feel and feedback at higher speeds and does not feel vague in driving. It is light to maneuver in the city conditions and XL6 doesn’t feel a big MPV while driving in the city.
