The Maruti XL6 remains a highly recommended family MPV if comfort and space are what you seek in the Rs 12-15 lakh bracket. You can't beat the captain seats in 2nd row and the boot offers decent space even with the last row up. The new 1.5 engine scores high marks for both smooth operation and excellent fuel economy. It may not be the most feature-loaded or performance-focused MPV, but as a refined and practical family mover with an upmarket touch, the XL6 still holds solid value.

What we admire in this car

The 6-seater version makes it comfortable at every seat.

The large window area in the second row brings a lot of airy feeling inside.

Second-row seats get separate AC controls for the passengers.

The all-LED headlamps have brilliant illumination at night.

All the 6 -seats offer adjustable headrests which is a nice feature on offer.

The 1.5L petrol engine is smooth and refined with a CNG option as well.

In CNG, it offers an exceptional fuel efficiency of 24-26 km/kg on highways.

Comes with paddle shifters in the automatic transmission variant.

What could have been better

Limited to petrol engines only.

Higher variants are not value-for-money options.

Could have offered more features as compared to the rivals.

Practical Comfort

I have achieved mileage of up to 28 km per litre on a single drive, which is very impressive. Maintenance costs are similar to those of a small car, making it economical to own. Seating comfort is admirable for all passengers. While there is a slight lag in pickup, the overall driving experience remains comfortable. The third row is quite comfortable, and the boot space is practical enough to easily accommodate around six one-way bags. Overall, it is a sensible and comfortable vehicle.
