MG has launched the much-awaited facelift of its electric SUV ZS EV, the new facelift comes with a lot of interior and exterior upgrades. The ZS EV is priced at Rs 21.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 25.88 lakh and faces direct competition in the market the Hyundai Kona EV which is priced at Rs 23.8 lakh and goes up to 23.97 lakh (ex-showroom). Specifications and Performance
Both EVs have a good range, and with the 2022 facelift, MG increased the battery capacity of the ZS EV. The MG ZS EV currently has a 50.3 kWh battery with a range of 461 kilometres. The Hyundai Kona EV, on the other hand, has a 39.2 kWh battery that can provide a range of 452 km. The performance of both EVs is adequate.

The range of the 2022 MG ZS EV is 9 km longer than that of the Kona EV, which isn't much of a difference, but the power of the ZS EV is 40 PS higher, which means you have more power on tap. However, when it comes to torque, the Hyundai Kona comes out on top with 105 Nm more torque.
Dimensions
The MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona EV both have an SUV stance, but their dimensions differ. The Kona EV has a length of 4180 mm, a width of 1800 mm, a height of 1570 mm, and a wheelbase of 2600 mm. The 2022 MG ZS EV, on the other hand, measures 4323 mm in length, 1809 mm in width, 1649 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2581 mm.

These EV SUVs include a plethora of features for the driver and passengers' comfort. The MG ZS EV boasts leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 7-inch digital cluster, a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, auto AC, a dual-pane electronic sunroof, cruise control, driving modes, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlights, and other convenience features. It boasts a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 4 speakers and 2 tweeters for entertainment and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has wireless charging, 5 USB ports, 2 of which are type-C, and a 12V charging outlet. The MG i-Smart application enables 75 smart features in the MG ZS EV along with a digital car key.
On the other hand, the Hyundai Kona is also well equipped with leather seats and leather wrapped steering wheel, metal pedals, LED headlamps with DRLs, a 10-way power-adjustable driver seat, ventilated and heated front seats. For entertainment, it boasts a 7-inch touchscreen display paired that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Kona EV also gets an electric sunroof, drive modes, paddle shifters, auto-hold parking brake, and other features.
Safety Features
The 2022 MG ZS EV comes with the Advanced Safety Package, which includes 6-airbags, Lane Change Assist, Blind Spot Detection, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. A 360-degree camera, electric parking, hill-descent control, electronic stability control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system are among the other standard safety features available in both ZS EV grades. It also has ISOFIX mounts, all five three-point seatbelts, and other features.
The Hyundai Kona has six airbags, vehicle stability management, hill-start assist, ESP, ABS with EBD, front and rear fog lamps, a rear camera with sensors, all four disc brakes, high-speed alert, and other safety features.
Pricing
The last aspect of our ZS EV vs Kona comparison is the pricing of both EV SUVs. The base Excite trim model of the 2022 MG ZS EV is priced at Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be available in July 2022. MG is currently offering its lone top-spec ZS EV Exclusive model for Rs. 25.88 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Hyundai Kona EV is available in a single model level, with dual-tone colour as an option. The Electric Automatic Premium costs Rs 23.79 lakh (ex-showroom), while the dual-tone model costs Rs 23.97 lakh (ex-showroom).
