2024 Yezdi Adventure Pros

Excellent handling on off-road terrains

Yezdi has not made much change to the new Adventure, with the motorcycle retaining its suspension, tyres, and brakes. However, Yezdi has claimed to retune the suspension damping, which has made the Adventure an even more composed motorcycle over off-road terrains than before. Even the ride quality and braking over smoother tarmacs feel improved.

Competition check: While the Yezdi Adventure has a conventional telescopic fork at the front, the Royal Enfield Himalayan, KTM 390 Adventure, and BMW G 310 GS have an upside-down front fork.

Functional design

From its looks, the Yezdi Adventure tics off as a proper adventure motorcycle, thus staying true to its purpose. It has a tall stance and a slim profile. Along with the presence of spoke wheels, off-road-spec tyres, and high ground clearance, the Yezdi Adventure looks purposeful for an adventure tourer. The changes made to the fuel tank make the new Yezdi Adventure look more clutter-free than before.

Competition check: With the new changes, the Yezdi Adventure looks purposeful, but it lacks the visual mass of the new Royal Enfield Himalayan or the sharpness of the KTM 390 Adventure or BMW G 310 GS.

Good pricing

Even with the updates, the new Yezdi Adventure now has a lower starting price of Rs 2.10 lakh, which goes up to Rs 2.20 lakh (prices ex-showroom, Delhi). At these prices, along with the new design and mechanical tweaks, the Yezdi Adventure is now a better value-for-money proposition.

Competition check: The updated prices of Yezdi Adventure make it the most affordable adventure motorcycle in its category, undercutting the Himalayan, 390 Adventure and G 310 GS.

Punchy performance

Yezdi has also updated the Adventure's single-cylinder, 334cc engine, including a rerouted exhaust header, optimised coolant flow, and better heat management. With these changes, the new Yezdi Adventure now claims 29.6 bhp and 29.8 Nm. While there is a drop of 0.7 bhp, the new Adventure also weighs 4.5 kg less than before, which gives it a better power-to-weight ratio than before, thus enhancing the overall performance.

Competition check: The Yezdi Adventure's power and torque outputs are lower than those of the Himalayan, 390 Adventure, and G 310 GS.

2024 Yezdi Adventure Cons

Limited after-sales support

new Adventure 2024

Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles still has a long way to go in expanding its sales and service presence nationwide. The limited number of service touchpoints can be a hurdle in the ownership experience of Yezdi Adventure in the long run, especially for prospective buyers in smaller towns.

Competition check: Yezdi Adventure's dealer network is thinner than those of the Himalayan and 390 Adventure, but it is better than that of the BMW G 310 GS.

Engine stalling issues

While Yezdi has made minor changes to the engine, which make it feel better in performance and refinement, the stalling issues of the previous iteration continue to haunt the motorcycle. The engine still tends to stall at lower city speeds at times.

Competition check: The engine refinement levels and power delivery of the Himalayan, 390 Adventure, and G 310 GS are better than those of the Yezdi Adventure.

No tubeless tyres

The Yezdi Adventure comes with spoke wheels as standard, eventually requiring tube-type tyres to be compelled over them. In the instances of punctures, the presence of tubeless tyres and cross-spoke wheels or alloy wheels could have made matters more convenient to handle.

Competition check: While the BMW G 310 GS comes standard with alloy wheels, the Yezdi Adventure and Royal Enfield have standard spoke wheels. Meanwhile, the KTM 390 Adventure has both spoke and alloy wheels.

Verdict

The minor design and mechanical updates and the slight price drop have made the Yezdi Adventure a better value package. However, the updates are still not enough to tackle the competition that has become stiffer with the arrival of the all-new Royal Enfield Himalayan.
