Hero Xtreme 160R - the name says it all! The Xtreme 160R was probably one of the most anticipated motorcycles of this year. That's because Hero was finally entering the 160cc sporty commuter segment with this motorcycle. Also because it is unlike any other Hero MotoCorp motorcycle, we have ever seen before. The new Xtreme 160R has now been finally launched in India at a starting price of Rs. 99,950, Ex-showroom Delhi. It undercuts the price of all its rivals and packs in some serious punch. Today, we have for you the Top Speed and Acceleration Test of the new 2020 Hero Xtreme 160R BS6.

We did a top-speed run and an in-gear acceleration test for first, second and the third gear. Before we begin, let me request you all that please don't do high-speed runs on the city roads. We rode this motorcycle on the outskirts of the Delhi-NCR region. Talking about the top speed, so we could achieve 114 kmph on the speedometer on a long straight road. The motorcycle has a very good low-end and mid-range performance but it lacks top-end grunt.

The top speed could have been slightly better with a light-weight rider but this motorcycle is not meant for an outright performance or drag race. The Xtreme 160R cruises very comfortably between 70-90 kmph and it is only after 90-95 that it starts feeling out of breath. In terms of speeds in each gear, in the first one, it manages 39 kmph, 68 in 2and and 92 in the 3rd one. Initially, the motorcycle is really fast and in our test, it sprinted from 0-60 kmph in just 5 seconds.

The Hero Xtreme 160R is undeniably the most striking looking motorcycle in its class. It is powered by a BS6-compliant 163cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with XSens fuel-injection technology. This motor churns out 15.2 PS of power at 8500 RPM and 14 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM. The engine comes coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It gets 37mm telescopic forks at the front and a 7-step rider-adjustable mono-shock absorber at the rear. For braking duties, it gets a 276mm petal disc at the front and 220mm petal disc/130mm drum unit at the rear with a single-channel ABS.
