The all-new Hyundai Creta 2020 will be launched on the 17th of March in India. It will replace the existing Creta will be positioned above its own sub 4m sibling, the Venue. Both these SUVs carry a modern and striking design language and we had a chance to capture them side by side during our visit to Hyundai's factory last week. Here is a quick video of the same:
Do note that this is a simple exterior showcase of both the cars. We do understand that while the Creta is a proper compact SUV that competes with the likes of the Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier and MG Hector, the Venue rubs shoulders with the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon and the Ford EcoSport. That said, both the vehicles carry forward the company's next-gen design language forward in a great way.
Both the Hyundai Creta 2020 and the Venue has sharp and elongated DRLs up front that steal the show for users. They also get relatively large grills, low positioned headlamps and pseudo skid plates at either end. As our luck would have had it, both the vehicles seen here are in the same shade of grey. The Venue seems to be a top spec SX(O) model whereas the Creta is a one low spec of SX.
At the rear, things arent too similar but both the SUVs carry their design along well. The Creta's rear execution has been raising quite a few eyebrows - it is overdone but once the lights are ON, the set-up does look nice. I am waiting to see one in motion and that will happen towards the end of this month when we drive the Hyundai Creta 2020 in Rajasthan.
As for now, we expect the pricing to start at Rs 9.9 lakh, going all the way to Rs 15 lakh plus for the higher versions. It will come with the same engine options as the Kia Seltos but will carry more features. The Venue in the meantime is doing good numbers for Hyundai, being the second highest selling sub 4m compact SUV in India.
