The Mahindra Thar has proven to be a runaway success. However, Mahindra and Mahindra still wants to introduce new variants of the Thar. Read ahead to know more about the 2020 Mahindra Thar White Colour that was spied testing on the Indian roads.
The Mahindra Thar currently faces a waiting period of 10 months and in order to cope up with the increased demand, Mahindra has ramped up their production capabilities by 50%.

The Thar which was initially launched in the 3 trims namely - AX, AX(O) and LX. AX came with side-facing seats whereas the other two came with front-facing seats. While the AX variant was quietly pulled down from the website soon after the launch, it got formally discontinued when the GNCAP results of the Thar became public.
Mahindra now plans to launch new variants and colour options for 2021. A lot of test mules in colours such as silver, olive and now white have been spied. It is also rumoured that an entry-level variant with front seats will introduced on the Thar.
The Thar is currently powered by 2 engines. Engine duties on the diesel models are handled by a 2.2 mHawk engine that puts out 130 BHP and 300 Nm of torque. The petrol engine is a 2.0 mStallion TGDI unit that puts out 150 BHP and 300 Nm in manual and 150 BHP and 320 Nm in the Automatic variant. Gearbox duties are done by a 6-speed manual and an Aisin-sourced 6-speed torque converter unit

Along with a new set of colours, the Thar might also get a new front fascia with a 7 slat or 5 slat grille. The Thar is also going to receive a price hike soon as well although Mahindra has not specified by how much will the price be hiked.
