PROS
Stunning Looks with Great Road Presence - The new Aprilia SXR 160 is a very handsome maxi-scooter and it looks stunning. The SXR 160 gets large twin LED headlamps with LED DRLs, a small blacked-out windscreen, LED turn-indicators and a LED tail lamp. The maxi-scooter sports minor fairing and chunky body panels which make it look quite large and give it a great road presence. The new Aprilia SXR 160 is available in four colour variants. They are Matt Blue, Matt Black, Glossy Red and Glossy White.
Punchy Performance - The new 2021 Aprilia SXR 160 is powered by a BS6 compliant 160cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, three-valve, four-stroke, SOHC, fuel-injected engine. This new motor churns out 11 PS of maximum power at 7100 RPM and also 11 Nm of peak torque at 6000 RPM. The engine comes mated to a CVT. This motor offers a very punchy performance.
Decent Hardware - The new Aprilia SXR 160 is based on a tubular chassis with an open single cradle frame. It rides on fat 12-inch tubeless tyres. Both the tyres of the scooter are of the exact same dimension and they measure 120/70-12 in size. For braking duties, at the front, it gets a large 220 mm disc brake while at the rear, it gets a 140 mm drum unit. It gets a single-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) too as an additional safety aid.
Spacious and Feature-Rich - The Aprilia SXR 160 is a maxi-scooter and it is very spacious. It even gets a massive 21-litres of under-seat storage space. It is also very feature-loaded and gets a large 5.7-inch all-digital instrument cluster that displays a ton of information including speedometer, average fuel economy, clock, battery voltmeter, etc. It gets an optional smartphone connectivity feature too and can be paired to your smartphone with the help of Bluetooth.
CONS
Stiff Ride Quality - The suspension duties on the SXR 160 are performed by telescopic forks at the front and it gets an adjustable spring-loaded mono-shock absorber at the rear. The ride quality of the SXR 160 is on the stiffer side.
Price - The Aprilia SXR 160 is one of the most expensive scooters currently on sale in India. It is currently priced at Rs. 1.26 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.
