Jeep India launched the Compass in 2017 and its hardcore Trailhawk variant in 2019. The brought became an instant hit but with rising competition, sales have come down. This problem, however, will be solved with the next-gen model. A Chinese website has shared some spy shots and it is indeed the updated 2021 Jeep Compass. So does it mean we will get a new Compass soon? Let's find out!
The test vehicle is covered in heavy camouflage to hide every detail. The Jeep's seven slab grille is visible in the pictures which is the same we get in the Indian spec Compass. We expect the lights to get an updated treatment with a new bumper too. The side profile looks the same with squared-off wheel arches, the alloy wheels in the picture had camouflage even on the hubcaps but the design is the same as of on the Indian spec Compass. One more detail is the chrome garnish on the door pillars but we are familiar with the love affair of Chinese buyers and chrome, so we don't consider it for our market. The rear profile will get slimmer headlights and also a hidden exhaust port.

We can't share much details for the interior as most of the part was covered with heavy camouflage but the first visible part in the interior is the new steering wheel which could be a flat bottom one and comprise a different button design. We can also expect a bigger touchscreen and new design for the AC vents.
On the engine front, the 2021 Jeep Compass will carry over the 2.0-litre diesel engine and the 1.4-litre turbo petrol in BS6 guise. There is no confirmation from Jeep India but we expect it to arrive later next year. Jeep India is also preparing to launch the Compass with a BS6 diesel engine and a 9-speed automatic gearbox in the next few months.
