Skoda India has finally launched the 2021 Octavia but at a hefty price tag of Rs 25.99 lakh and goes all the way up till Rs 28.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Competition
Until now, the Hyundai Elantra was ruling this segment but now the Skoda Octavia too finds its way in the list. However, the recently launched sedan is bit on an expensive side. The humble Elantra is priced from Rs 17.86 lakh to Rs 21.13 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
Dimensions
This fourth-gen Octavia is based on the newer MQB AO IN platform and has now grown in length. It now measures 4689 mm in length that is an additional of +19mm. Below is the table that brings out the dimensions of Skoda Octavia altogether -

Exteriors
The fouth-gen Octavia has surely improved in styling and yes, it packs in the sharp creases at the front and side. Up-front we have the bi-LED headlight design followed by flanked out robust grille that has now grown in size. The bottom part of the bumper gets rectangular headlights and a chrome strip attaching the two.
Similarly, the side profile continues with newly designed alloy wheels that gels well with the styling of the sedan. The sedan looks like it is carrying a coupe style and at the rare, it slopes down amazingly well. You also get SKODA lettering at the rear and the inverted L led taillights.
Interiors
Step inside the cabin and experience the ultimate royal like feeling with the dual-tone beige and black colour scheme. The two-spoke steering wheel, larger touchscreen infotainment system, loads of cubby spaces to pack your stuff in, each and every thing is detailed out. The overall colour scheme of the interiors gives out a rich feeling but a sunroof should have really given an airy feeling to the Octavia.
Features
A larger 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, electric parking brake, two-spoke steering wheel with multi-functions, LED ambient lighting, Canton-sourced audio system with 12 speakers offering 600 plus watts, shift-by-wire gear selector that is first in the Skoda for DSG and among others.
Engine and ARAI
Mechanically, there is only a single turbocharged petrol engine present in the Octavia. The 2.0L TSI is a four-cylinder turbo unit that generates 190 PS of power with 320 Nm of peak torque. This is further mated to a 7-speed DSG unit that delivers an excellent performance followed by an economical mileage. The ARAI certified figures stick to 15.81 km/l.

Safety and Security
The newer fourth-gen Octavia is packed with all the safety features up to the brim. You get as many as eight airbags, iBuzz Fatigue Alert and Adaptive Front-lighting System. In addition, a host of security equipment and safety support functions include ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), EBD (Electronic Brake-force Distribution), tyre pressure monitoring system, acoustic etc among others.

Skoda Octavia is brought in two variants only - Style and the top spec L&K (Laurin and Klement). The prices for the same sticks to Rs 25.99 lakh and Rs 28.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
Skoda Connect and Warranty
Connected technology in the car is an added feature and it is new in the Octavia too. The latest iteratin is equipped with, MySKODA Connect. This has an inbuilt technology that helps one in case of an emergency with features such as Road Side assistance and SOS.
It also helps keep the car secure in the owners absence with features like Geo fence, Time fence etc. Other features like the driving behaviour, trip analysis and more that are required in day to day life is taken care by this feature. The carmaker is providing 4 years or unlimited km warranty on the Octavia.
