One of the most anticipated launches of 2021 has to be the new Tata Safari and it's launched at a price of Rs 14.69 lakh and the top of the line variant XZA+ is priced at Rs 21.25 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. It is to be noted that this is an introductory price and the updated prices will increase soon. Compared to the Harrier, the base model of Safari is just higher by Rs 65,000.

Powering the new Safari is a 2.0-litre, BS6 compliant, four-cylinder turbocharged diesel unit which is seen on the Harrier. This unit is FCA sourced and generates a healthy 170 PS of power with a peak torque of 350 Nm. You get a 6-speed stick shift as standard and an optional 6-speed automatic gearbox.

You get to choose between six variants in the all-new Safari - XE, XM, XT, XT+, XZ and XZ+. The automatic is reserved for the XM, XZ and XZ+ variants only. The Safari also gets a panoramic sunroof right from the XT+ variant which is also the widest in the segment. Additionally, there's an Adventure Persona pack too with the new Safari which gets different interiors, new exterior colour shade and alloy wheels colour.
Even though the new Safari does not get the 4x4 as standard like the older one, Tata has promised that if the demand persists then they will launch the updated model. It should be noted that the Omega Arc platform on which the new Safari is based is ready for off-roading capabilities.

The all-new Safari is fairly equipped with features like an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also gets Tata's iRA connected car technology, 9-speaker sound system from JBL, panoramic sunroof which is the widest in the segment and other features. It also hosts the best safety features.
The new Safari competes with the likes of MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV500 and the top-spec variants of the Jeep Compass. In future, it will also compete with the 7-seater version of the Hyundai Creta and the newer generation of the Mahindra XUV500.
